The Company is developing innovative projects with several medical centers and research and innovation biomedical institutions, among which are the Health Corporation Parc Taulí-Sabadell Hospital/Parc Taulí Foundation (Sabadell, Barcelona) and the Bellvitge University Hospital/IDIBELL-Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (L’Hospitalet del Llobregat, Barcelona).
Dr. Bardají, Director of the Department of Pediatric Surgery from Sabadell Hospital, presented the new technique for Pectus Excavatum (Taulinoplastia) and the new implant (Pectus Up Surgery Kit, on Sunday 8th June, during the 133rd session of the thoracic surgery area. The session, entitled “Current status in the management of Pectus Excavatum”, was organized by Dr. Andrés Varela de Ugarte and moderated by Dr. Carles Bardají, together with Dr. José Luis Duque Medina (Valladolid) and Dr. Javier Moradiellos Diez (Madrid).
On the other hand, Dr. María Molina, Coordinator of the Pulmonary Interstitium Unit of the Pneumology Service at the Bellvitge University Hospital, and expert in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, participated in the 109th session entitled “Recent advances in the treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis”, moderated by Dr. Julio Ancochea Bermúdez Ancochea (Madrid) and Dr. Antoni Xaubet Mir (Barcelona). Dr. Molina also participated in the 157th session entitled “Symposium: Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (InterMune)”. The session was moderated by Dr. Julio Ancochea Bermúdez (Madrid) and Dr. Alberto Capelastegui Saiz (Galdakao, Vizcaya).
During the congress, the conference “We are all patients” was held, which was a heartfelt tribute to the doctor and patient Albert Jovell, who died recently and who was a collaborator in many activities of the SEPAR Society.
At the meeting Dr. Joan Escarrabill highlighted the figure and work of Dr. Jovell and delivered posthumously, a Doctor-Doctor award to his wife, Dr. Dolors Navarro.
